El Nino has given us quite the winter so far. Yesterday was a pretty special day for many reasons. It was the first time The Eddie competition has been held since 2009 at Waimea Bay. And it was also special because the rest of the islands have lit up with waves too. Peʻahi (commonly referred to as “Jaws”) was FIRING yesterday with massive waves and brave big wave chargers. The energy on Maui’s north shore is tangible in the air… literally. There’s actual sea spray in the air, even a up to a few miles away from the shore. Wild!
