Reverend Kahu Kamuela is a direct descendant of the Mahihelelima Ohana. They were Nakoa warriors for the great King Kamehameha. In the 1900s, the Mahihelelima ohana moved to Maui and made their home in the Kumuwiliwili area. The ohana served as konohiki or protectors for the beautiful and lush Iao Valley.
